โ€œFor those who donโ€™t know the trilogy, hereโ€™s the first excerpt from the first book, โ€˜The Three-Body Problemโ€™:โ€

โ€œThe Three-Body Problem,โ€ a novel by Liu Cixin, is the inaugural book in the โ€œRemembrance of Earthโ€™s Pastโ€ trilogy. The narrative commences during the Chinese Cultural Revolution, focusing on Ye Wenjie, who experiences her fatherโ€™s brutal death due to his supposed anti-Communist views. She later becomes part of a covert military operation at the Red Coast base.

Fast forward to four decades later, the story introduces Wang Miao, a nanomaterials expert. He becomes part of a clandestine group, the Frontiers of Science, and discovers an impending external threat linked to a series of unexplained suicides among scientists.

The novel presents a unique take on the encounter between Earth and an alien civilization from a nearby triple star system, hence the title โ€œThe Three-Body Problem.โ€ The story explores humanityโ€™s reaction to this contact, creating a divide between those who welcome it and those who resist.

The English version of the book, translated by Ken Liu and published by Tor Books in 2014, made history by being the first Asian novel to win the Hugo Award for Best Novel. The novel is celebrated for its creative storytelling and its fresh perspective on the alien invasion theme. ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒŒ
